Summertime!

Boy, did Spring blow by me while I was busy or something. The school year is finished! Mary just finished her first week of summer school. It's an enrichment program offered through the public school system. It's a sweet deal (free!) and they're even busing the kids. She seems to be enjoying it. They go for 2 days next week and wrap up the following week. Short, but sweet.

Speaking of Mary, she's turning 9 soon! We're starting plans for her party. I'm going to have to brush off my party planner hat, it looks like she wants to have the party right here at our house with games & crafts. Being the mom of three kids appears to have seasoned me. The thought of 9 guests under the age of 10 doesn't scare me to death like it would have a few years ago.

The Behrends (Korea--soon to be Germany--branch) are visiting right now. Chris is going to be staying with us for the summer while he earns money for his college books. He's heading to his freshman year this August. I told Gene & Sherry it was good they weren't staying longer - all the fantastic food we've been making & eating would have me gaining 20 pounds!

All we need is the Blonde Gaffaw & Kiwi with their spouses to make the party complete!
