You are now entering a construction zone

Last week, we had huge trucks in our side yard digging 4 wells 200 feet deep. Don't worry, it was planned. We're putting in a geothermal heat pump. The 4 closed loops will either draw heat out of the ground or disperse heat into it, depending on the season. Much more efficient than an air-to-air heat pump (geothermal is considered water-to-air).

So, that was last week's excitement. I took pictures but they're still on the camera. I'll post them later when I get a chance.

Today, a different crew arrived to update our duct system so it works better. Dampers at every joint and some new plenums. The real excitement was when one of the guys decided to check out my closet. Only problem was he forgot to use the door. Yup, he mis-stepped in the attic and put a foot through the ceiling. Right in my bedroom closet. They're going to repair it, the biggest hassle is the closet light isn't working and I'll probably have to remove all my clothes when it's time to repair the hole.

The joys of home improvements!

Hi Jen and Sean! You will love your geothermal heating. That is the reason we bought this house. It has saved us hundreds in gas bills! We *are* having to replace the furnace, since it is 20 years old(and has been having some problems, probably caused by previous owners) but that should be finished next week and we will ahve a new furnace, electric(instead of gas) water heater and water tank(to store the water from the pond for the WaterFurnace....I love it!How did the floors turn out?
Hugs, cathi
