Civic duty

Well, lookie there. After nearly 20 years of being a registered voter, I've finally been called as a juror. Well, sent a questionnaire to assess my qualification as a juror. It remains to be seen if I will qualify, two of the questions were whether I've lived in VA and/or the country in the past year. If I am deemed qualified, I'll be placed in a pool of potential jurors that might be selected to serve between November 2006 - December 2007.

I have to say I'm relieved it was just jury duty. It was a bit disconcerting to pull the envelope with the return address of "Clerk's Office, United States District Court."
