Errands

Well, I'm starting to feel human again. Actually woke up before 9 am today, so the jet lag must be receding. Not completely though, both Meaghan and Margaret were up at 3 am. The good news is they had their snack and were back in bed within an hour.

Slowly but surely getting through my errands list. Got my cell phone yesterday, though it unfortunately doesn't get reception at Mom & Dad's house. Today, we're heading to Chesapeake to get Mary registered for school and the car inspected.

Should be getting an estimate on the carpet/flooring job in our house. I'm very happy with the contractor that was recommended to us by our property manager. He's been in the industry for years and recently ventured out on his own. Very laid back, but very knowledgeable. He told me I'm his first "green" customer, and his vegetarian daughter who's building his website was excited to create a whole section on green flooring products based on my job.

It's really cool, actually. We're putting hardwood floors down in the living/dining room area. We're going to be using bamboo flooring for that. Bamboo is very earth-friendly and incredibly durable, too. We're going with the carbonized, horizontal cut. I'm excited to see it installed!

The carpet I'm selecting is made from soda bottles - 100% PET filament polyester. Underpadding is also recycled, using memory foam from mattresses.

Who knew being green could be so much fun?
