It's Official

After some nail-biting and waiting (you would think I'd be used to this by now!), Sean got his orders today!! He's to detach from CNFK and report to his new command in Norfolk, VA in September 2006. Woo hoo! We're relieved and excited that it's about as firm as it's going to get (at least, before we actually execute the move).

We've been daydreaming about BBQs on the back porch in Chesapeake and watching relatives spoil our kids for a few weeks now. I know I'm doing it to avoid thinking about all the move logisitics. You know, the getting-there part that can be so painful at times. So, Dear Readers, consider yourself warned. I'm sure there will be a vent or two on this blog in the coming months.

Before I dive fully into the logistics of moving, though, we have some other fun bureaucracy to deal with. There are numerous items that are critical for me to be legal both in Korea (Visa in passport) and on post (driver's license, ration card) that have an expiration date. That expiration date was based on Sean's original orders that had us leaving here in May 2006. So, we have to get all those extended sometime in the next 6 business days. Of course, there's a federal holiday and an Army "training day" to make it interesting. Ack.

Go Navy!
