A nice, quiet Christmas
As Christmas Day winds to an end, I am thankful that it was relatively quiet! Let me take you back to Thursday. Meaghan woke up with a very strange looking rash. It was quite large and quite red, but she didn't appear to be bothered by it. She was her normal, cheerful self and showed no signs of discomfort or fever. After consulting my trusty reference library, I decide to wait it out.
Friday arrives and Meaghan's rash is still around. Not worse, but not better either. So we decide to get it checked out. Of course, the ped clinic had no slots until at least next Thursday, so off to the ER we went (a.k.a. urgent care clinic) on Friday. Took us SEVEN hours to figure out it was just a harmless virus. Stressful and awful, too, it took them 6 tries to get blood drawn.
So, Sean & I stick with our plans to eat out for dinner. Off we go to the Korean restuarant for a yummy meal. Well, after a stressful afternoon and little food (I had no breakfast and a handful of french fries and two bites of a burger for lunch) the rich Korean food did not agree with me. The purge began around 2am that night and I was up and down every hour or so until morning. UGH. Was doing better in the morning, but still wobbly and DEFINITELY not up to cooking/handling raw meat. So, our plans to host 12 people for a standing rib roast dinner on Christmas Eve were postponed! We're going to have them over tomorrow.
So, Christmas Eve was very low-key, just what mommy needed! I took two naps, ate some toast and drank a lot of Sprite. Thankfully, by this morning I was back to normal. We had a grand time unwrapping all the presents, it was an embarrassment of blessings. Headed over to the Behr Lair (Korea branch) for dinner around 3, had lots of yummy food and good fellowship. Oh, and Meaghan's rash is almost complete gone. Go figure.
So with that, sending you Merry Christmas wishes as most of you start your Christmas Day! We'll chat again soon. xoxoxox
