Had a prenatal checkup this a.m. (at 8:15, UGH!) and everything checked out great. Blood pressure was 124/67, heart rate 97, fundal height was 39 cm and fetal heart tones were between 141-143 bpm. The OB offered to strip my membranes, apparently that is now routinely offered from 38 weeks on. I declined, first of all because Tiffany isn't here yet (she arrives Thursday night) but mostly because I don't like internal exams at this stage. I didn't have to encourage labor with my first two births, so don't intend to start now (especially before I'm term!).
Mary has off from school tomorrow for a teacher workday, but is back in school on Friday. Ironically, Sean has Friday off as a "training holiday." The Army loves to tack these on to three-day weekends to make them a day longer.
Tiffany gets in Thursday night, Sean will be picking her up from the airport solo since it will be past the kids' bedtimes. Am mostly ready for the baby, I've got cloth diapers and clothes washed and staged. Just need to set up the Amby Hammock we bought the little one and install his/her carseat! Then the real waiting begins...
Forgot to share Margaret's new word today..."Mommy." I recall that Mary was *much* older when she made the transition from "Mama" to "Mommy." I think Margaret picked it from one of the kids we hung out with today (we took a trip to an aquarium with a local playgroup). Was fun to hear, at least until late tonight when we had to leave her fuss in her crib because it was WAY past her bedtime and she would not go to sleep. *sigh*
