Attended Mary's parent/teacher conference today for her first quarter. No surprise, she is doing quite well in school. Excelling in math and reading both. Her teacher, Mrs. Allen, is going to pull her and 4 other advanced readers to do more independent reading. During reading time, they'll read an assigned book and then each will have job, varying from listing words they don't know to drawing pictures about the story to putting together a puppet show to reenact the story. Mrs. Allen said that Mary was the strongest reader in her class and she was going to lean on her to help these other four readers get through the independent reading.

Needless to say, Sean and I are both proud of her.
