What a frustrating day. Went to the passport office to find out how we're to get our visas for Korea, and I was told that I would have to go to the embassy myself. Excuse me? I made sure the clerk understood that this isn't exactly a pleasure trip, and she confirmed the answer with another office mate. Talk about aggravating! Needless to say, I'm going to research this further. I find it hard to believe the Navy expects me to hump it up to the Korean Embassy in Tokyo (2 hours away) with my 2 young children and apply (and pay!) for the visas myself.

Can you imagine what that would do to relations with Korea? Picture all the indignant military wives showing up at the Korean embassy for their visas!
