Mary had an exciting day yesterday. She was chosen from her Kindergarten class this week to sign the Golden Book. The letter from her principal read, "Students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth are recognized through the Golden Book recognition program for some positive achievement or contribution they have made to their class or school." Her teacher's nomination said, "Mary demonstrates respect for herself and others. She volunteers to assist others during work and play times. Mary is a pleasure to work with!"

Mary got to help with the morning news program that is broadcast on the school cable channel. She and several other Kindergarteners helped say the Pledge of Allegiance, sang the National Anthem and introduced themselves to the audience. She did very well, Dad walked her down to the studio and provided moral support while Mom stayed behind at the classroom to watch her on TV. I only wish I could have taped it!

Way to go, Mary!
